Electronic Communications Disclosures and Consent
Please read this information carefully and print or download a copy for your records. This document is provided in accordance with the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN). The words “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to First Northern Credit Union and the words “you” and “your” refer to the individual(s) conducting the transaction.
Consent - By checking "I accept", you consent to open a First Northern Credit Union account(s), loan(s), or service(s) by using your electronic signature. By providing your consent, you acknowledge receipt of this Electronic Communications Disclosure and Consent agreement and consent to the delivery of electronic communications. You also confirm that you meet the Hardware and Equipment Requirements listed below and are able to access and retain electronic communications from us. You consent to conduct business electronically regarding membership in First Northern Credit Union (First Northern) and all subsequent business within that membership.
Non-Acceptance - If you do not provide your electronic signature and consent to conduct business electronically, you will not be able to proceed with your transaction online and will need to contact us regarding non-electronic methods of conducting your transaction.
Hardware and Equipment Requirements - To use this process to open your account(s) and to access and retain electronic records, you will need the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome. In general, we support the current and some previous versions of these browsers. You must also have software capable of accessing PDF documents (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) in order to receive disclosures electronically. If you wish to print or keep copies of the records, you must also have access to a printer and/or the ability to download and store the documents provided.
Paper Copies of Electronic Records - If at any time you wish to obtain a free copy of your electronic signature and consent to open account(s) and enrollment agreement, you may print or email the agreements using the options provided, or contact First Northern by calling 888-328-8677. If you would like to request a paper copy of any electronic communication, you can print the document and retain a physical copy or please contact us at 888-328-8677 to obtain a physical copy. Refer to our Fee Schedule for fees for statement copies.
Contact Information - In order to communicate with you regarding your account, loan or service, you must provide your e-mail address. It is your responsibility to update First Northern regarding any changes to your e-mail address. You may update your contact information (including your email address) online, at a branch, or calling 888-328-8677. If you fail to notify us of any change in your email address, you agree that we may provide electronic communications to you at the email address maintained in our records and provided by you. Any electronic communications we send to you will be deemed to have been provided on the date we deliver the email to you advising you of the availability of the electronic communication online.
Withdrawing Consent - You have the right to withdraw your consent to conduct business electronically. If you select this option, your access to electronic banking will be terminated. To re-enroll, you will need to meet eligibility requirements. You may withdraw your consent by contacting First Northern at 888-328-8677. We will not charge you a fee for withdrawing your consent to receive information electronically. If you withdraw your consent, the legal validity and enforceability of prior electronic communications will not be impacted.
Electronic Account Statements - As part of your membership, you will automatically receive free electronic account statements. You may, however, elect to switch to paper statements within your Online Banking preferences. Refer to First Northern's Fee disclosure for applicable paper statement fee.
Nature of Electronic Communications - Many electronic communications sent and received over the Internet can be and are often intercepted by unauthorized recipients. By providing your consent, you understand and agree that delivery of electronic communications is inherently unsecure and presents risks beyond the control of First Northern. By authorizing the delivery of electronic communications, you understand and agree that, to the extent permitted by law, First Northern cannot and will not be liable for any damages incident to the unauthorized receipt of electronic communications.
You further acknowledge that by accepting this agreement, you will have access to your authorized First Northern accounts through all electronic means offered by First Northern. You understand and agree that First Northern may restrict and/or terminate your access to any electronic services at any time where we reasonably deem it necessary to prevent a loss to us; if you do not pay any fee when required; you do not comply with the agreement governing your deposit or loan accounts; or your account(s) are not maintained in good standing. By consenting to this agreement, you understand that you are applying for current and future electronic services that may be offered by First Northern. You agree and understand that if approved for membership, you are contractually liable according to the applicable terms of the First Northern Account Agreement and Disclosures, the Fee Schedule, and all terms and amendments First Northern makes from time to time that are incorporated herein. You understand and agree that your electronic signature is the legal equivalent of your manual signature and you will be legally bound by your electronic signature.
